WIFLE Receives Appreciation from Netherlands Antilles Foundation

WIFLE received a certificate of appreciation from the President of the Foundation for the Uniformed and Armed Women in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. The certificate was for the support and guidance given to its President, Casandra Martha, Inspector for Central Police in Curacao, and Marie Jessica Pinedo, Curacao Immigration, in creating a foundation to support women and also to support programs and investigations into violence against women. The certificate is signed by the Prime Minister, Emily deJongh-Elhage, as well as by members of the Foundation.

Recently, WIFLE Executive Director Margaret Moore coordinated a meeting between Marcy Forman, Director, Office of Investigations, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Curacao Foundation as the first step toward establishing a specialized unit in Curacao to investigate human trafficking. ICE and the Foundation also conducted a two-day training program for Curacao uniformed women in Curacao.
