Enroll now to participate in WIFLE’s Ninth Annual Leadership Training Conference to be held June
23-26, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Tampa in Tampa, Florida. This year’s conference program will focus on leadership skills necessary for advancement into all ranks in the government, including the senior executive service, as well as an examination of key investigative issues faced by federal law enforcement. WIFLE is partnering with local area Tampa police departments to integrate our counterparts and to provide for a greater networking opportunity for all law enforcement.
We are very excited about the conference presentations this year. The Honorable Michael J. Chertoff, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, has been invited to be the keynote speaker and kick the conference off to a great start. Other invited power speakers for conference programs include Pam Iorio, Mayor of Tampa; Gale Rossides, Deputy Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration; Marcy Forman, Director of the Office of Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement; Michael Sullivan, Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Shirley Gibson, former President of COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors); and, Anh N. Duong, Science Advisor to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information, Plans and
Strategy. An important program also will be presented by Dr. Teena Cahill on Women Taking the Lead: Wisdom for Everyday Leadership and Peak Performance.
Last year, over 500 people from federal, state, local, and international law enforcement communities attended the leadership training conference. The annual training conference provides WIFLE members and supporters an opportunity to promote WIFLE goals, including furthering the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women in law enforcement occupations in a collaborative and cooperative learning environment.
